Norwich, NY – Colorscape Chenango Arts Festival announced that Sunshine Artist Magazine, a leading trade publication, has ranked Colorscape number 33 in their annual list of the 100 best classic and contemporary craft shows in America.
“Last year was the first time Colorscape was ranked by Sunshine Artist,” explained festival organizer Peggy Finnegan. “We were excited to be included, but our ranking skyrocketed this year, which makes the honor even more special. This is truly a recognition of the quality of our artists and the overall experience of the festival.”
Sunshine Artist Magazine’s ranking comes from a “score card” grading the festival with a score of one to ten in each of 14 categories. Colorscape scored no lower than 9.1 in any category and achieved perfect 10s in: quality of the art, balance of artistic media represented, artist treatment, artist amenities, management, layout, and judging and awards.
The ranking and review of Colorscape, which were released in the magazine’s August 2019 issue, included participant feedback such as, “The staff at this event treat artists like gold. They are thoughtful, organized, and ready to help at any time. The craftsmanship is outstanding. The crowd comes to buy and appreciate art.”
Another commenter was quoted as saying, “Colorscape maintains a very high standard and is the best show in the region.”
Sunshine Artist has been reviewing fine art fairs, festivals, and craft shows around the country since 1972. The rankings are compiled from participant critiques and reader reviews.
“This is Colorscape’s 25th anniversary, and we couldn’t be more pleased to be recognized by Sunshine Artist,” stated executive director Celeste Friend. “Artists already know that it’s a great show to be a part of, and this ranking is proof that all our hard work each year pays off. We’re proud of Colorscape’s prestige and reputation.”
