Student Art Show

2023 was our first year bringing back the popular Student Art Show after a short hiatus. We are so proud to report that we received over 100 pieces of student artwork, which showcased the incredibly talented students throughout our school districts in Chenango and Broome counties. Congratulations again to all the winners! This year, we hope to make the Student Art Show even bigger and better, and we cannot do this without your help. We encourage you to consider submitting your students’ artwork to the show!
Colorscape Chenango Art Festival’s Student Art Show is a children’s art exhibit that occurs during Colorscape weekend – September 7th and 8th, 2024. Anyone currently in grades K-12, including those that will graduate in June 2024, can participate. The show is split into 4 age groups and 4 mediums within each age group. The show will be open to the public Saturday, September 7 10am-6pm and Sunday, September 8 11am-4pm.
Age Groups
- K – 2nd Grade
- 3rd – 6th Grade
- 7th – 9th Grade
- 10th – 12th Grade
Mediums
- Painting
- Drawing
- 3D (sculpture & ceramics)
- Graphics (photo, print, digital)
Awards
Each age bracket and medium category will have a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Place cash prize winner one “Best in Show” cash prize winner. These winners are chosen by a jury prior to Colorscape weekend. Winners will be announced from Peggy’s Stage on Sunday, September 8.
Please note: This show is open to student artists outside of Chenango County! Feel free to spread the word and invite others in surrounding counties to submit if interested.
Rules and Guidelines
- Submitted artwork must be original & completed within the 2023-2024 school year.
- Kits, copies, and ceramic from commercial molds will not be accepted.
- Size limits: 2D – 18”x24”; 3D – max. 3ft in any direction.
- Maximum of 3 works per student.
Submissions
- Drop off art at the Colorscape Chenango office, located in the basement of the Chenango Arts Council building (Using the Maple St. entrance, go straight down the stairs & through the double-doors. Pick-ups can be arranged if more convenient).
- Pick up artwork(s) from the show on Sunday, September 8th (delivery to schools can be arranged if needed).
- Please do not include any name tag or label on the piece(s) except for the ID Ticket (see below).
